A small city in McLennan County, TX, Lorena is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located thirteen miles southwest of Waco on Interstate Highway 35 and U.S. Highway 81.
Settlers originally came to the area that would become Lorena in the 1850s, the townsite being laid out in 1881 while the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas line was built between Hillsboro and Taylor. The community was named for Lorena Westbrook, the daughter of a prominent local family. A post office was established in 1882. By 1884, the community had multiple stores, and farmers shipped livestock, corn, cotton, and more.

The Prime Asphalt guys were fast, efficient, and did a great job for a lower price than other companies had quoted for less work. We had a lot of loose rock on both flat and sloped driveway areas from a previous not-properly-executed chip seal job. Everybody’s tires would slip on the sloped area before, and rocks would fly. But now there’s no more skidding, and it’s so much quieter! They also installed asphalt on the steeper route down to our new barn where the trucks kept getting stuck. Being able to get around the property easily is a big relief. We’re super happy with the work.
