Paving in Woodway: what’s different here

Woodway is almost entirely residential: it began as a small community on US 84 around 1950 and incorporated in 1955 largely to keep up with building its streets. Today it’s a city of nearly 10,000 people between US 84 and SH 6, next to Lake Waco, with well-kept homes and driveways to match.

That means most of our Woodway work is about quality and finish: replacing tired driveways, resurfacing sound ones, crack sealing and sealcoating, and getting the transition to the street right.

Woodway requires permits for all concrete work, including driveways, and inspections for drive approach and curb work. On the west side of the county the ground tends to be shallower and stonier than the clay east of Waco, which can make base work easier but makes drainage and edges more important.

FAQ

Paving in Woodway: common questions

Do I need a permit to redo my driveway in Woodway?

Concrete driveway work needs a city permit, and drive approach and curb work is inspected. We’ll tell you what applies to your job.

Should I resurface or replace?

If your driveway is cracked on top but solid underneath, resurfacing saves money. If the base has failed, replacement is the better buy. We’ll tell you which after we look.

How often should I sealcoat?

Every two to three years for most driveways.
