Prime Asphalt's commitment to our Midland and Odessa area patrons is to provide paving products and services that are of the highest caliber.
Asphalt paving is a classic choice for any type of paving or road construction endeavor. This paving option is recognized the world over for its ability to repel water, provide flexibility, and stand up to demanding traffic and merciless weather extremes.
Whether your paving project involves a parking lot, tennis court, driveway, flooring for a pole barn or any other private or commercial application, Prime Asphalt will get the job done, efficiently and professionally.
Prime Asphalt Materials
Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC)
HMAC involves the mixing of a heated asphalt binder to an aggregate, at predetermined temperatures. Once the asphalt has reached an ideally-heated temperature, the paving and compacting begin.
Asphalt Patching and Repair
Patching is part of regular maintenance and is performed when the air and ground temperatures are above freezing; and spot patching is often used as a temporary remedy for issues such as potholes. All work performed by Prime Asphalt is 'turnkey' and includes saw-cutting, if needed, as well as removal and disposal.
If asphalt surfaces have not been well-maintained and indicate signs of problematic water infiltration that has compromised the sub-grade material, saw-cut removal and replacement can serve as the best type of repair option. Though this choice a cost a bit more up front, significant savings down the road become very evident.
Chip Seal
If you want to save a noticeable amount of money with your paving needs, then Chip seal could be your answer! This very popular paving method is utilized all over the world and lends itself as a more cost-efficient alternative to black top or concrete. As with asphalt, chip seal involves liquid asphalt (or hot bitumen) being applied over existing pavement or a compacted road base. A select type of rock is evenly spread over the area and then rolled, impacted and sealed.
Crack Fill
To maintain the structural integrity of any paved area, cracks in asphalt should be filled every year. Prime Asphalt uses either hot rubber or cold-pour crack filler. Filling cracks as a preventative measure is crucial to keep the base or sub-base from weakening and losing structural support.
Seal Coat
The importance of applying a seal coat as part of asphalt-pavement protection cannot be over emphasized. Asphalt will deteriorate very quickly if left untreated; though regularly-applied seal coat will combat deterioration issues. To ensure maximized protection, asphalt-paved surfaces should be sealed every 2 to 3 years. In order for seal coat to work best, air and pavement temperatures should be a minimum of 49 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 consecutive hours.
You can expect surprisingly little downtime with seal coat; and your pavement will take on a fresh, new look!
Oil-based Coating
Emulsifier Sealer/Rejuvenator provides the necessary oils for your pavement that have been lost due to oxidation and normal wear and tear; and your paved surfaces will look new, again. Oil-based coatings cure quickly, rebind the aggregate, provide optimized protection from water and sunlight, and create a rich, black coloration. Oil-based Gilsonite can be added in any temperature as long as the surface is dry.
Specialty Coatings
Prime Asphalt offers 13 earth-tone colors for asphalt pavement. Driveways, parking lots, walkways, golf-cart paths, patios and so much more can take on a new personality and eye-catching aesthetics.
Grading and Excavation
Since our Midland and Odessa patrons work with only one contractor regarding their grading and excavation projects, the entire process is predictably simple and seamless. Whether it is the installation of a road-base for a new driveway, the finishing of grading on new construction, or clean-up and leveling after asphalt paving, Prime Asphalt's experienced crew members will get the job done quickly and professionally. Will you require the services of applying gravel on a roadway, having a road cut out, excavating for utilities or fixing drainage issues? No problem! Prime Asphalt can do it all!
Recycled or Green Materials
One of Prime Asphalt's most-committed goals is to tread as lightly as possible on the environment. As a result, we offer recycled asphalt – or RAP – which is used extensively throughout the entire US. RAP is the single most-used recycled product in America and is made from previously-used pavement that has been crushed and still possesses some of the original bituminous asphalt.
RAP can be installed in any setting – from rural roads to oil fields – and acts as a super-tough, maintenance-free solution that helps combat problematic dust issues, as well.
Striping
Pavement that is either freshly-paved, seal-coated, saw-cut or patched can utilize striping. Parking lots are a popular candidate for this procedure. Prime Asphalt uses high-quality Sherwin Williams marking paints to ensure long-lasting durability.
